Team Home Run Derby Competition

Each team will choose 2 hitters to compete with 1 coach pitching to them.

1st Round

All teams will compete (order chosen randomly) with the 2 designated hitters previously chosen.
Each Hitter will get 6 outs.
Any ball not hit over the fence in fair territory is an out. Foul balls, swing & miss, etc. are all outs.
Players (not the hitters) from the team batting next will play the field and shag balls (infield/outfield) and get balls back to the pitcher. Players will not interfere with any ball that has a possibility of being a home run.
The top 5 teams (total team home runs) will advance to the competition round. If in the event of a tie to determine who advances those teams will each choose 1 player to have a 5 outs slugfest to decide which team(s) advance to the next round.

Championship Round

The top 5 teams will compete. The lower seed from 1st round will bat first.
Each player will get 8 outs.
Total team home runs (clean slate for championship round) will be declared winners. The tiebreaker will be 5 out slugfest by 1 player from each team until a winner is declared.

This event is FREE to all 10U, 11U, and 12U teams that are playing in the Riverdogs Memorial Tournament in Grand Island on May 30 - June 1. Team Trophies will be awarded to the top five teams at the end of the competition. The competition will start Saturday, May 31, at 7:30 pm or when all games are finished for the day.
